  1. ServoScriber free version

Posted by Unknown on 28th Mar 2014

This worked well for the intent (and price)!
It did what I needed to test and learn what Iwas doing, but I quicky found I need something much more robust and versatile for my needs.
Brian was very helpful to answer all questions I had!

  2. 3D printer version of Esra 1.

Posted by Unknown on 29th Jul 2013

I think I may have been the first one to order this 3d printed version of Esra because there were no instructions available at that time.

However, it was easy enough to figure out. All the parts printed with no problems. There was a little problem with the eyelids being difficult to insert into the post holes without breaking it but even here I was able to solve the conundrum by simply shortening a bit one of the ends so there was no reason to take away a star.

The instructions for installing the polulo drivers are superb. No problems with visual studio 2010. But with VS 2012 I was getting invalid address in one of the methods of the usb wrapper dll. Here again I noticed that the controller was shipped with the original version of the firmware. So updated the firmware (very easy procedure instructions from polulo) and that solved the issue.

Overall I am very happy with it and since it is my first project involving hardware controllers that I put together myself it is a great start. I have much fun with it writing the software to lip sync , eye saccades etc.

Thanks to my experience here my goal in the future is to build another head that has a neck, eyebrows and jaw.

  3. Finally a way to sync servos with sound

Posted by Botman on 19th Jul 2012

This software is so easy to use, I can't believe no one has done this until now! Just move your mouse across the scratch pad and synchronize your sevo movements with your wave file. Perfect for animating ESRA.
